In 1955 a newspaper ran an advertisement for kids to be able to call and talk to Santa Clause. But the phone number had a typo and by accident was the number to NORAD. (actually the agency before it was called NORAD) The Colonel who answered the phone decided to have some fun and give all the kids that called an update on the location of Santa Clause.
