.38 105gr Load Data Win WST

Does anyone have load data or experience using WST they could share with me off line? Also is WST very sensitive to temperatures below 40 degrees?

Haven't tried loading WST in .38 special.

 

From a lot of use in 12 gauge, .45 auto and .45 Colt with Cowboy type loads (light, lead bullet), I can tell you it is NOT cold sensitive at all. Would almost certainly be same for a .38 spl load.

PS - some users see the pressure drop a little at HOT temperatures - reverse temperature sensitivity. Test WST loads at the hot end of temperatures to be safe with velocity or PF requirements.

Nope, if properly loaded and even if only lightly crimped, WST will burn with no residue at all. One of the cleanest powders going. Unburnt powder indicates that the load is not heavy enough, or that .38 spl just isn't the right case to get a good burn in with it.

I'd be interested in loading WST for .38 Special. I have a bunch to use up. Been to the reloading sites but not a lot of info loading .38 Special.

This booklet shows the WST data to be considerably different from 231! Less of WST produces more pressure than 231.
