Too Tall Bob
Awhile ago, someone had posted about a "shim" or "spacer" for a SDB press. It was just thick enough so you could load .357's using the .38 special tool head. Does anyone remember who was offering this? Thanks in advance
Ozarks Ranger, SASS # 39553R
WE USE TO USE A VALVE SPRING SPACER BUT DO NOT REMEMBER THE THICKNESS IT'S BEEN TOO LONG. GOOD LUCK
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
I've only seen these for the 550 and 650. http://www.reloader-rob.com/?p=299 The .357 is .100 longer than a .38 Special so you could make a shim/spacer. Really not terribly useful since if you are switching from .38 to .357 you still have to ajust the seater die unless you are using the exact same bullet. I have never seen a ".38 Special" toolhead for the SDB. They are .38/.357. All you have to do to go from .38 to .357 is screw the seater and crimp dies out a bit and adjust the powder measure. The sizer die adjustment doesn't change.
Rafe Conager SASS #56958
Bob, buy some .45s or water those .38s you got and they'll grow to real pistols! how did shooting go yesterday? Rafe
Too Tall Bob
Don't to water 'em. Just add bigger lead and more powder! Yesterday was fun. Warm but not punishingly hot. Mist Chance wrote the stages and they were fun. Even a liitle breeze so we could see the steel!(mostly)
