Gen Lew Wallace
Greetings, So I get into work this morning and I break out the old cast iron skillet and start browning hash browns. Then I add some sausage crumbles, then crack three eggs and stir it all up. The finishing touch is sawmill gravy. Now that's a good firehouse breakfast on a Sunday morning. We just underwent a complete renovation of our kitchen to include getting all new utensils and supplies. The one thing I made sure we saved from the old kitchen was that cast iron skillet that has years of seasoning on it.
Subdeacon Joe
'tain't "seasoning." It's "culinary history."
Calamity Kris
Sounds wonderful!! Some of the best eats I ever had were at the firehouse.
Gen Lew Wallace
Greetings, I also have to work on the 4th so we're going to fire up the grill. That's another thing firemen know how to do besides breakfast; grilling.
DocWard
Spent some time riding with paramedics out of a local firehouse when I was in the National Guard. They made some of the best pizza I've ever had.
