Rancho Roy
Johnny, You got yourself one hell of a deal! I have the same gun with a SS barrel and it is the most accurate lever action I ever owned. In CAS I'm much faster with it than I am with my slicked up 1873! Keep it unlubricated and sit infront of the TV and work the action 250 times. Take it apart and clean out the swarf, gently file the sharp or rough edges and put a very little synthetic oil where needed. Put it back together and you won't believe how smooth it will be. Brownells sells a "Lee SpringKit" that is very easy to install that will slick it up even more. I actually like it better with a blued barrel...............Good Luck with it.
