Filthy Lucre, 55674L
When filling out your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to this address: A Recovering American Soldier, c/o Walter Reed National Military Medical Center 8901 Rockville Pike Bethesda, MD 20889-5600. If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful, special people, who have sacrificed so much would get. Prairie Dawg, SASS #50329
+1 I offer the opportunity to my students each year to do this. Most of them send a card with a nice sentiment. Good thing to do -- give kids the opportunity to give a little back -- many of them will. --Dawg

Calgary Kate, SASS #33287
I'm the first in line to support the troops, but this is an old e-mail floating around and the cards won't reach the soldiers. But, here's how you can reach them... From the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (posted Nov. 17): Walter Reed National Military Medical Center wishes to thank those interested in sending our Wounded Warriors holiday mail. Beginning today, all holiday mail for service members should be sent to the following address: ... Holiday Mail for Heroes P.O. Box 5456 Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456 ... Please note it does not require the name of a specific service member. All cards being sent in for the 2011 Holiday Mail for Heroes program should be postmarked no later than Friday, December 9. Please pass this information along to your friends and colleagues.
