Jonathan Slim Chance Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Well, it’s time to thin the herd a bit. I seem to have taken an unintended retirement from Cowboy shooting for a while, so hate to see this just sit in the safe. Winchester 1887 This is an original, dual extractor 1887. This is an honest working gun, it won’t ever win any beauty pageants but it’s dead reliable. At some point in it’s past, someone had to replace the right hand breech screw (shown in one picture) and they did it with a standard slotted screw (but again, the gun works fine this way) I never replaced the screw with a factory one because I thought it added character. There’s a chip out of the toe of the stock, again been that way for years. When I got it, the original barrel looked like ten miles of bad road, so I replaced it with a replacement barrel for a solid frame 1897 Riot gun (50’s vintage according to the source). The original barrel will be included in the sale. It’s been through Coyote Cap’s shop, so the action has been cleaned up a bit. Looking to get $650.00 or best offer plus shipping for it. Woody Shootem, SASS # 24816 Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 This is a 12 Ga., right? Well, it’s time to thin the herd a bit. Fort Reno Kid Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Is the shootin' iron made on or prior to 1898, i.e., so that it can be shipped by regular mail/UPS/FedEx without having to go thru a FFL?
Jonathan Slim Chance Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 Yep, it's a 12 gauge. As far as shipping to a non-FFL, I'm not sure and I'll need to figure that one out. Anyone got any help on that score?
Jonathan Slim Chance Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 Sent you a PM. Woody, I responded to the messages from last night, did you get them? I didn't see any PM's from today.
Woody Shootem, SASS # 24816 Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Yep! My PM's were from last night. Just wanted to make sure you knew I had responded. I'm sending you another PM right now. Woody, I responded to the messages from last night, did you get them? I didn't see any PM's from today.
Jed Irons Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I'll take it if it's still available. Please let me know. Sent a PM.
Jonathan Slim Chance Posted August 9, 2011 Author Posted August 9, 2011 Looks like it's sold pending funds. Thanks for the interest.
