Trigger Mike Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 If I replace the springs on a WW2 P-38 how much will it degrade its value? I ask as the gun fires whenb you engage the safety.

I took it to the range today and it is a good thing I had it pointed down range when I engaged the decocking lever. on fire it works fine. I did a search and found where others have had the problem where it goes full auto on them when the safety is engaged.
Marshal Dan Troop 70448 Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 If you replace the springs with original ones, such as from a dewat or relic, no one will know, since these weren't stamped for individual guns. Also, remember that such things as springs, firing pin, were, or are replaced in usage. MT
