Trigger Mike
Where is a good source of which states I can sell a gun direct to an individual in person without oing through a dealer? i.e. can a GA resident sell to a S.C., NC, AL, FL, TN resident in a face to face deal. Utah Bob #35998
You cannot sell across any state line without an FFL.
Grizzly Dave
And laws differ from state to state, and between long guns and pistols. I know what the laws in Colorado are for face to face with another resident of Colorado, for anything else I use an FFL. It's worth it to me not only to make sure it's done right, but also to support a local FFL.
Utah Bob #35998
Federal law prohibits it. Plain and simple. A person may only acquire a firearm within the person’s own State, except that he or she may purchase or otherwise acquire a rifle or shotgun, in person, at a licensee’s premises in any State, provided the sale complies with State laws applicable in the State of sale and the State where the purchaser resides. A person may borrow or rent a firearm in any State for temporary use for lawful sporting purposes. [18 U.S.C. 922(a)(3) and (5), 922((3), 27 CFR 478.29 and 478.30] link
