3-fingers Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Thinking of getting the Dillon casefeeder for my 550B. Any input will be much appreciated.
carolinas longarm 4146 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 I've had good luck with mine, but I have another w/o feeder for rifle. If I only had one 550 I wouldn't add it because of the amount of rifle rounds I load for long range, and it would be alot of trouble switching back and forth...As it is I use the feeder on the loader that I load all my 45LC and ACP and it is much quicker. Good luck.....
Papa Hoss HP SASS# 75033 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 I have one on my 650.I think is a great feature to have. I know it must really speed up the operation. I think that you will certainly enjoy the addition. papa hoss
Lefty Wheeler Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Howdy: Great asset to a loader! I have a couple of suggestions. (1) Have a reasonably sturdy bench. It shook on a weak bench and caused some jaming. Once the bench was beefed up problem solved. (2) If you use .38 Special and .357, install the spacer that comes with it. (3) enjoy! Lefty
Shooting Bull Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Having a 550 or 650 without a case feeder eliminates a good 50% of the machine's capability. In my ever so humble opinion.
Sneaky Gun Runner SASS 79775 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 I have a 650 with a case feeder. If I have my primer tubes filled and ready to go I can load somewhere between 600-700 rounds in about an hour give or take ten minutes. If I was really trying I am sure I could beat that by a goodly amount.
I. M. Crossdraw, SASS# 8321 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 It's great with pistol caliber, 600-700 rounds in an hour. If loading for rifle caliber, you need a separate press if you don't want the hassle of changing caliber in your press.
Judge Harshly, SASS 45531L Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 The 550 brass feeder works great with the small 32 H&R cases. For over-all reloading of pistal cals. it is hard to beat a 650. Judge U. Harshly, who is lucky enough to have both a 650 and a 550 with brass feeders, and a spare standard 550 to expierment on.
Persuader, SASS # 74492 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 I have a 550B with Case feeder I no longer use. It's set up for .38. It works great. I'm going to sell it, if you're interested let me know. Might save you some money.
