I was actually just looking at that. I bought the 4pcs die set without really researching and I also bought a powder cop without realizing I didn't have enough room for all of that in the press. I'm gonna just keep rolling with what I have until I need to replace something, then I'll change it up. I like the idea of the lockout die. -
I supply the ISO tune pros to my employees and they work great for awhile but they are not very durable. I am not aware of an ISO Tune earbud that doesn't utilize bluetooth. I don't know what your budget is, but the 3M Peltor TEP-100s are very nice. But very expensive....to the point that they may not be worth it. A more budget friendly option would be Act Fires. Though I haven't personally used them. A friend of mine uses them and he seems to like them. Personally I use Safariland Pro Impulses. They are not electronic though. They do have "pass through" that allows me to hear people speaking, but I don't know that would help someone who's hard of hearing.

Just about ready. This past week I was able to get my wife her holsters and belt. I've loaded around 1200 rounds of 38. Picked up 900 rounds of Winchester 12ga AA LRLN. I've got someone coming to buy a mountain bike I've decided to sell. Once that happens I'll go have my holsters and belts made. I think we've decided since we will both be shooting Bisleys, we're just gonna share one set of pistols. And we'll work towards buying a second set of pistols and long guns through the year. May need to get another cart too. I love the Marion River woodcraft cart, but it won't be big enough for the both of us as our load outs grow. We're getting there! What I find the most exciting is how excited my wife is. -
I have a RRA 458 and one I put together with a BCA upper. They both shoot great, no issues with either. But the Bear Creek is noticeably more accurate than my Rock River. I paid $1800 for the RRA years ago. I've got under $600 in the BCA build. I have Bear creek uppers in 350 Legend, 458 socom, 450 Bushmaster and 50 Beowulf and they all perform well.

$25 a box is a lot. But it's not out of line with what I've seen when I was trying to find an ammo source. The cheapest I've seen for remanufactured ammo is from Green country ammo at $31 per 100 rounds, but all they carry is 158 grn RNFP.

Are you supposed to shoot your deer on the run?
KatfishKid replied to Alpo's topic in SASS Wire Saloon
I've been hunting for a long time and have taken a lot of deer over the years. The only one I’ve ever lost was one that jumped into a river and got carried off by the current. I prefer a standing, broadside shot right through the pump station, but I’ve taken running shots when the situation called for it. As for the idea that shooting a standing deer is somehow unsporting, I’d say that’s more of a literary device in Matt Helm than an actual hunting ethic. In real life, a standing shot is typically the most ethical and responsible choice. A calm deer presents the best opportunity for a clean, quick kill with minimal suffering, which should always be the goal. The idea of "fair chase" is important, but it shouldn't be confused with making things harder just for the sake of it. That said, the way one person defines ethical hunting may differ from another's. For example, when it comes to archery, I’ll take shots that some consider questionable, but I make those decisions based on a deep understanding of my skill level and equipment. I know MY own bow, arrow weight, FOC, broadhead's capability and limitations better than anyone else, and I’m comfortable with shots like a frontal brisket shot or an "extended range shot (40-50 yards)" when the conditions are right. That’s not a shot I’d suggest to someone using a light arrow with poor FOC and a mechanical broadhead. Ethics in hunting are often tied to skill, knowledge, and equipment, and what’s right for one person may not be for another. I've been flamed for this stance by other bowhunters over the years, but at the end of the day, I stick with what I know works for me. As long as a hunter is making responsible, well-informed choices that result in clean, humane kills, that’s what matters most. -
It might be worth restricting the classifieds section to more established members. I ran a forum for years, and at one point, scammers became a serious issue. To combat this, we required users to have at least 25 posts before gaining access, with moderators manually approving requests to enter the classifieds section. While it was a bit of extra work, it drastically reduced scams.

I have one. It's sitting between the green primer tray and the strip light on the bench. -

Should be churning rounds out soon enough. I'll get it all set up this weekend. Still need to order components, but that's on hold until I get my leather made and pistols ordered. -

It will just be my wife and I reloading. My oldest is 23 years old and will soon be out on her own (I hope 🤣) and my youngest will likely never shoot a gun or even attend a shoot. She has Down syndrome and she is very sensitive to loud noises. -
I start new hires at $14.50–$17 per hour for an entry-level position, and I often hear complaints that this isn’t considered a livable wage. However, this is a more than fair wage for the type of work being done, work that requires no prior skills and only asks that employees show up, follow simple instructions, and perform reliably. My very first job when I was a kid was cutting tires at a salvage yard, I was paid 25 cents a tire and on average I made $10 or so in a day a few days a week. On the days I wasn't at the salvage yard, I cleaned horse stalls for $1 a stall and got an extra $5 a day when I fed and watered the 35 horses in the evening. When I entered the 9-5 world, I was paid $7.75 per hour and was at the wage for a couple of years while I started a family and also attended school.

I bought a Hornady Lock N Load AP. Should be here today. As far as shotgun. I will likely never reload for shotgun, unless I get into black powder. I do hunt, but not really worried about loading for shotgun. I typically shoot 1-2 cases of shells during dove season and maybe another case for pigeons, but other than that its a handful of shells for coyote, turkey and the occasional rabbit hunt. -
As a smoker, I only smoke one particular brand and would rather not have a cigarette at all if it's not "my" brand. My grandma came to the US from Germany in her 30s and had always smoked Sobranie cigarettes. I believe they are made in England. For years her sister would send her Sobranie cigarettes until it became impossible to do so. She quit smoking all together and said US cigarettes are nothing but floor sweepings and horse manure.

That'll keep things interesting for sure. I'm sure eventually it'll get a little monotonous shooting the same guns over and over. In a few years I bet I'll be spending some time with the safe door open trying to choose which guns and which calibers I wanna shoot 🤣
