  1. That is a lot of caps! I'm going to check the local toy store to see what they offer. Just looking at the picture, these look to be more substantial. Thanks Pat.
  2. The sticky caps idea. Well I took a lot of the suggestions I got from the Saloon brain trust and got to work. I got some of mom's double sided wrapping paper tape, some wax paper and a roll of caps. I laid a line of tape on the wax paper, then laid the roll caps on top of it. Then I cut along the edge of the roll caps, and in between the individual dots of powder. Then I had individual caps. I could peel the wax paper off with my razor knife, apply them to my toy and pop, it worked! It was kind of a pitiful report. Sounded more like a small hammer hitting an anvil. But it did work. I did find it laborious to peel the wax paper off so I did another line using the unused portion of the double sided tape on the back of the roll caps. Once cut, it was much easier to peel and place. No razor knife needed to peel the paper. So it is possible to do. Now I need to find some old fashioned roll caps that have a larger dot of powder to give a more resounding report. On to the next experiment/project.
  3. There have got to be people at the sports book in Vegas crying and tearing their clothes over this. Me, I think it is funny as heck.
  4. I have a sheepskin coat I bought 40 years. It shrunk something awful. Fur is on the inside. When I could get it on, it was warm as toast, even 0n the coldest days.
  5. Ok. After reading about Armstrong's mixture, I'm not going to make my own solution. I'll stick to trying roll caps with some sort of adhesive. Besides, the ingredients don't come in very small quantities and are fairly pricey. Ah, the fantasy of it all.
  6. I have enough ideas here, I know I am going to get into some kind of trouble. I have the thin double sided tape, I think I have spray adhesive, now where to get, potassium perchlorate, sulfur and antimony sulfide without the BATFE showing up at my front door. Alpo, what are the percentages of each? "I know a guy", I went to college with (yes, I did go to college and graduated. They actually gave me a piece of paper to prove it.) who builds his own fireworks. Maybe he has sources. If you hear of any loud explosions on the news coming from South Central Wisconsin, not to worry, it's just me.
  7. I found those also. I'll try the roll caps and double sided tape first. BP won't go bang if you hit it? I wonder what they use in caps?
  8. A box would hold 4 or 5 sheets of caps you would peel off to put in cap guns. I haven't seen them in forever. I'd buy a bunch if I could. I would show my grandsons how I used to play. Do you think a creative person could replicate them using tape and black powder?
  9. I met her at the convention in Vegas. She was as bright and bubbly in person as she was on the wire. I too miss her.
  10. 16 gauge hulls . Approximately a box worth of Federal high brass, purple hulls. 5 Activ plastic hulls. If you want them, I'll mail them to you. Hate to throw them out if someone can use them. Message me. Shells are gone.
  11. Larry, I hope you don't mind but I requested to posse with you at EOT.

That's great! Usually Capt. Jim Midnight from Iowa is our posse marshal and he runs a good posse.
