Ummm, yeah. $148,000 is affordable. And I’m thinking the FAA will be very interested in how and where it’s flown. But hold on to your hats depositors, this company is going belly up after one or two are produced, if it lasts that long.

That’s Ellie Kemper who played the receptionist in the later seasons of “The Office”. I mute all TV commercials and haven’t noticed who or what she’s shilling for. I liked her character on the TV show. -

I enjoyed the character, played by Patton Oswalt, when I first saw the show. Since then, we’ve been subjected to his sometimes obscene political rants and I have a hard time getting past that when I see him onscreen. I feel the same way about Oswalt as I do about Alan Ritchson who plays Reacher. Wish these people would stick to entertaining instead of ramming their politics down our throats at every opportunity. -
I loved that old guy. “Still got the shovel!”

This was obviously a promotional film made by Boeing to sell the plane. What amused me is the subtle dig at the Douglas DC-6/7 and Lockheed Constellation airliners. Fact is, Boeing only built 56 of them, while Douglas built over 700 of the DC-6 and 300 of the DC-7. Lockheed built almost 800. The knocks against the Boeing was its high cost and troublesome engines.

As is the Super Guppy shown in another thread.

how long should a fuel pump be good for?
Abilene Slim SASS 81783 replied to Alpo's topic in SASS Wire Saloon
Couldn’t say, but my Jeeps have had them since 1990. The one in the 1990 went kaput after 20 years. I’m betting the length of time your vehicle is idle in the hot Florida climate has something to do with the pump deterioration. Having said that, the external pumps on my pre-1990 vehicles needed replacement now and then. 9-10 years on yours doesn’t seem excessive to me. It’s not the mileage, but the time. -

Abilene Slim SASS 81783 replied to Alpo's topic in SASS Wire Saloon
My current Jeep, a 2005 Grand Cherokee has 138,000 miles on it with its original fuel pump. My ‘97 Cherokee was 26 years old with 147,000 miles on it when I sold it and still had its original pump. Obviously I don’t drive much. They reside in the fuel tank. Could be the gas you buy or perhaps there are environmental factors in Florida affecting their longevity. At a minimum, you should consider a different brand of pump. And stay away from off-brands of cheaper than dirt gas, as quality can vary greatly, even bought at the same location. -
They developed the Monitor concept into the 1890s and were woefully obsolete by the time they were launched. This is the USS Terror. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Terror_(BM-4)
