H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619 Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 Well, last weekend was the Massachusetts/Connecticut/Rhode Island Tri-State shoot, and as always, the Harvard Ghost Riders put on a great match. Known as "Hellfire at Barrister's Junction" is well attended by great pards from the three states in question, the rest of New England, and even a little bit beyond. Kudos to everyone who worked so hard to make it such a great match. Once again, I was conducted a simple "Cowboy Church" service, and more than a few folks were on hand for that as well. And no, in spite of what the name of the shoot is, I did not do a Hellfire and Brimstone type message. While I did lose my clean match on stage 8 due to a pistol jam, I had a lot of fun. And neither did I go away empty handed. Now, traditionally at this match, there are the following side matches, pocket pistol speed, pocket pistol accuracy, derringer speed, derringer accuracy, and something that I don't remember from previous matches, "Ace in the hole," a kind of main match pistol accuracy match. Well, I have to say that I did very well in one of these side matches... The pistol is an Iver Johnson, .38 S&W, and this is the first time I've ever won one of these things. I felt good. Looking forward to next year.
