Subdeacon Joe
Thank You! https://www.defense.gov/Multimedia/Experience/VE-Day/ "Our rejoicing is sobered and subdued by a supreme consciousness of the terrible price we have paid to rid the world of Hitler and his evil band. Let us not forget, my fellow Americans, the sorrow and the heartache, which today abide in the homes of so many of our neighbors - neighbors whose most priceless possession has been rendered as a sacrifice to redeem our liberty." Cypress Sun
And another 3 months, 7 days until the Japanese surrendered. Eighty million+ dead and untold hundreds of millions wounded, homeless, uprooted from their native land and destitute. I hope the World NEVER, EVER sees such slaughter and degradation of mankind again. A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE GREATEST GENERATION and GOD BLESS AMERICA. Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
Because the German surrender was at midnight, everywhere east of Berlin celebrates VE Day on May 9. Russia’s traditional huge parade this year included 1 tank and zero aircraft.
