Abilene Slim SASS 81783 Posted March 30, 2022 Share Posted March 30, 2022 I’m going with Widder’s scenario. If the shooter was loading as claimed, a double bullet makes the most sense. It’s rare, but I’ve had the “bullet suck” scenario occur where one gets sucked/stuck in the seating die. It’s relatively easy to spot if you’re paying attention on a progressive press, but a moment’s inattention can be disastrous, especially if a bullet feeder is being used. Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474 Posted March 30, 2022 Share Posted March 30, 2022 I was on the same line as a new outdoor handgun shooter, at Connaught Ranges when there was a KA-BOOM similar to that one! An older gent, who loaded his own and shot a Webley .455, blew his gun up, leaving it looking similar to the OP.. It almost made me not want to start reloading. Almost.
