Marshal Hangtree
Kids and grandkids and their dogs finally went to their homes after Christmas, so now it's just me and the Mrs and our two hounds. We de-Christmassed the house today and got everything back to normal. I settled back playing clawhammer banjo for a while. Life is good again. bgavin
Our #4, her hubby and their son moved out and bought their first house. After 5+ years with us, we are back to the two of us. I have a piano still new in the box, and my 1970 Mastertone 5-string to start playing again. Enjoy that free time Marshall.
Marshal Hangtree
Wish I had a good banjer like that, bgavin. I just have an old beater Johnson JB100 that I'm learning on. I'll get a better one next year. Maybe by then I'll play well enough to keep the hounds from howling. Do you play 3 finger Scruggs style or old time? bgavin
Scruggs style, self-taught. I still have my old plastic 5-string up in the garage... it was my learner in the late 60s. My ex-wife would not allow me to play in the house, had to go sit in the truck. I still have the banjo... < grin > Fella here plays with Black Irish Band, frails and clawhammer. His instrument looks to have been through WW1... sounds like pure magic. Skill is in the hands, not the fanciness of the instrument. Glad to hear you will be back to playing. I've been 6 years without playing a note... and the clock is ticking.
