Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
Not to hijack the other thread about lead reloaded bullets in an M1 Garand, I started a new thread about pressures and ammunition. There is a web page for Garand* Gear that features a PORTED GAS PLUG. It is different from the other offerings in that it is not adjustable. Sortof a plug and play type of gadget. I was wondering if any of my peers in this august body have one, and have used it, and how satisfied they are with it.
Cholla
I do not have one. I think you may be talking about the plug that allows the gas to escape instead of operating the action. If this what you are referring to it makes the rifle a one-shot non-automatic firearm. Some people like them so they can shoot whatever they want (within reason) and not have to worry about damaging an op-rod but the action has to be operated manually. Muleshoe Bill SASS #67022
It is not a vented plug, it is a large volume gas plug that reduces the gas pressure due to the larger internal volume of the plug
