Rye Miles #13621 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 I purchased a Taylor's cattleman and didn't realize that it has the 1860 Army grip. I like the gun but I'm not sure the regular SAA lighter mainsprings will fit. Does anyone know about these? This is much like the Alchmista by Pietta with the 1860 army grip. Where would I get a lighter mainspring for this? Thanks, Rye
Prairie Dawg, SASS #50329 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Hi Rye: Should take the same spring, as they just move the attachment hole up a bit from the bottom of the triggerguard. --Dawg
Colorado Coffinmaker Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Hi Rye!! The Main Springs have been "standardized." Same same main spring for both "Navy Pattern" grips and "Army Pattern" grips. VTI Gunparts has their very nice light main spring or your can use "Lee's Gunsmithing Gunfighter" main spring set. I use both but prefer the Lee's spring set.
