Dantankerous 4,239
When registering to become a member of this forum we can put our SASS number in our profile. This is helpful to other SASS members on this board for a few reasons. However... Are those SASS badge numbers (membership numbers) posted on our profiles ever double checked against the member's public alias to verify the forum member is who he says he is? The reason I ask has to do with a scammer's ability to scam real members in the classifieds. You understand where this is going? Thanks!
Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217 6,325
Hi Dan, They are rarely checked. However, whenever someone complains about a seller, I write HQ to see if they are a current member. If not, I change their number to Guest and hide their post. John Boy 845
Their forum registration should be deleted ... Quote Offers on the Classifieds may only be posted by a SASS Member (you may not post for someone else), in good standing, and must include his/her SASS Number. Offers posted by Guests or Members not including thier SASS Number will be deleted.
Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217 6,325
Hello John Boy, Usually they apologize and say they didn't know. Politeness goes a long way. I find rudeness and personal attacks to be much worse than a honest mistake. That goes on much more frequently, by current members, and when the Moderators take action on it, they get hate mail.
