I was 12 years old and a couple of my chores were to mow the lawn and take the trash out and burn it. We lived in a small town in the panhandle of Nebraska and it was okay to burn your trash. I mowed the lawn and just as I was about finished the mower ran out of gas. I refilled it and finished. When I refilled it I spilled gasoline on my pants. I forgot about it and took the trash out and used a strike anywhere match to start the trash fire. When I struck the match across the back of my pant leg, like my grandpa showed me, the resulting spark and lit match caught some remaining gasoline on my pants on fire. What a pleasant surprise. (I am obviously a simple man.) :-) I'm gonna order a 3-pack right away. Those strike on the little box matches are tiny and don't really ever work very well, and even if they do, the striker strip on the boxwears out early and long before the matches are used.
