Bandera Tx for Winter RVing.

I'm thinking of going to the Hill Country for part of the Winter. Specifically Antler Oaks Lodge. Any feedback about that area in January, February?

Bandera is a beautiful area of TX and is touted as the Cowboy Capital. That time of year you can see some cold weather including ice storms. You could also see temps in the 70s and 80s. I am in the Houston area so cant give you too much specifics.

I live in Kerrville, just about 25 miles from Bandera. It's a nice little town, several "dude ranches" and camp grounds near by. Mild winters, in the 30's/40's little if any snow. In 7 years I only saw 2 ice storms, neither lasted more than a couple of days. The Texican Rangers" shoot between Comfort and Fredericksburg, about a 40 minute drive. Green Mountain Regulators near Marble Falls, about an hour and a half.

Add Texas Caballeros in Dripping Springs and Plum Creek shooting Society over in Lockhart. Should Be a club or two shooting in San Antonio as well as down in Corpus Christi. Closest "City" to Bandera is going to be San Antonio. Naturally you'd have to visit the Alamo as well as the River Walk. The Alamo is not the only mission in the San Antonio area, and the others are well worth a visit. There is lots of history in the area. The winters are not anything like Minnasocold, but they ain't like Key West either.
