Tom Bullweed Posted July 21, 2012 Share Posted July 21, 2012 The numbers that I see have the 5.7 velocity from a pistol about the same as the .22 Mag is from a 18" barrel rifle. The 5.7 is reloadable (though tiny), comes in more high-performance ammo and three times more expensive to shoot. FWIW: Kel-Tec makes the PMR-30, a .22 mag semi-auto pistol with 30-round magazines that sells for slightly less than a FN-5.7 but costs much less to shoot. My local indoor ranges allow the .22 mag but not the bottle-necked 5.7. (I do shoot bottlenecked .32-20 and .38-40 but they know that these are loaded to no more than factory 1250 fps.)
