WTS Swedish Rolling Block Sporter

SWEDISH ROLLING BLOCK rifle in 12.7 X 44R (Similar to .50-70). Metal retains over 85% blue. Rifle has a very good plus bore(might even rate excellent) good stock and 33'' barrel. This is a sporterized military rifle and the action is marked Crown/C and dated 1875. It was probably converted at VAPEN DEPOTEN in Fallum, Sweden in the early 20th century for the commercial market. VAPEN DEPOTEN was the Swedish version of Bannerman's in New York. The wood has dark stain applied and shows some wear, but no cracks or splits. The barrel has a folding two leaf rear and blade/bead front sporting sights installed. The action works very well and is crisp and tight! This should be an excellent shooter - one of the best I have seen for awhile. I cleaned lots of old grease out of it and it could use some additional attention. The closer I look at it, the more I think it was never fired after being converted to a sporter. This is a very easy rifle to load for. Brass made from .348 Winchester cases (available from Buffalo Arms). Inexpensive .50-70 dies can be used for belling brass and seating bullets. STANDARD DISCLAIMER: Before shooting any antique rifle it should be examined by a qualified gunsmith. Shipped to your door for $425. Might consider trades for CAS guns. Prefer good quality cap and ball revolvers that I can easily sell to get the cash I need for the roller, without paying transfer fees.

I like it, was looking for one made in Norway "kongsberg" Or a Jarmann bolt rifle. GN

Jarmanns are rare. Norwegian M67s are scarce as well.
