I always wanted one of these! But, when I was old enough to look into actually getting one, I found out there was way, way too much paperwork. :(

Your right, there are very few true gunsmiths left. The word gunsmith is used very loosely in our sport. We have a few good specialist, but very few true gunsmiths. Some of the advise given on this post and on the wire is a joke.

I have to agree with this comment. Using one of the highly recommended gunsmith ended up ruining a good rifle were nearly all internals needed replacement. Years before I needed a replacement part, again from a very highly praised so called "expert", as so stated many times here on the wire. A call indicated he had the part, I sent in a money order, and included a pre-payed overnight return envelope, sending it the same, overnight. It took 3 weeks for him to ship the part, and did not send it in the overnight envelope, rather parcel post. Another expert claimed to have a slicked shotgun, so sent payment, 8 weeks later still no shotgun, a call indicated he was behind in orders and would be about 3 more months. My refund took longer then that. I noiw learn myself how to replace, repair, and slick a firearm. MT

Interesting comments posted on this thread. I have ample parts for the Stoegers, all The SKB Models, the Browning BSS's and the Winchester Model 21's and 23's.

Suppose that's why your name almost always finds it's way onto any list of SxS smiths that I mention on the wire. Thanks for your hard work, and a fine collection of parts!

What would be really nice is if the Stoeger importer had as fine a collection. ^_^

Good luck, GJ

That's why I went with the Bakail, every part is readily available, almost overnight shipment. Plus, its so easy to disassemble. MT
