Noah Cash
I have read on here about the problems with the newer Marlins and want to avoid these problem plagued guns, and have located a used Marlin not to far from my home. If I go look at this one is there a good way to identify one of the problem guns over the older guns? This one says only fired a few times so I am thinking that this may be a problem gun that someone is trying to unload. I know someone here would know how to tell the difference in them. The Original Lumpy Gritz
Marlin has, for the time being, STOPPED making the 1894's we use for SASS because of their piss pour QC following the move to "Rem-Land" Hope they get their act together, only time will tell. Three Foot Johnson
If it's an all numerical s/n and the barrel is stamped JM, it's a Marlin. If the s/n starts with MR and the barrel is stamped REP, it's Remington made.
