carolinas longarm 4146
Have a chance to pick a nice one up cheap and wondering if they'd make a good Cas gun. I see folks using SKBs and Brownings but don't hear much about converting the old workhorse Fox......Any input from the shotgun specialist would be appreciated. Maddog Maxwell SASS#31604
I don't know about single trigger guns, but my wife uses a double trigger Model B and loves it. She's been using it for around 11 years.
Garrison Joe, SASS #60708
Fox Model B - Stevens 311. Same design. A good solid gun, not as fast to shoot as a BSS or SKB made Ithaca, because of the large barrel extension (locking lug) that sticks out of the monoblock of the barrels. Gets in the way when speed loading shells. Good luck, GJ

I can vouch for that comment. I shoot a Stevens 311 and have the same problem. 'Nooga
carolinas longarm 4146
Thanks for replies. I was thinking about this as a double for my wife when she starts shooting again. I have a Stoeger coach gun that I've been holding onto since 1996, but that sucker kicks like a mule even with the light stuff. This Fox is a 26" gun and as you know built like a Plumb hammer, and I'd think the extra mass would help tame the recoil, plus it really points well. I just need it to open easily and the shell fall out. She'll never be worried about speed in loading.
Trailboss (Santa) Dave
I use this gun and love it, and it is fast. In fact I've been told several times you can't shoot a single trigger that fast.
