Chili Ron 938
Howdy, Some rifles have a little door on the buttplate and cleaning rods can be stored in the buttstock. I have always thought it would be a nice and not too expensive option but not many rifles have it. Seems like a drillpress a vice and most any rifle with a wood stock could be storing cleaning rods too. Anyone know of a place making the plates for marlins, rossi etc?? Doc Windshadow 0
I expect you could get a surplus one from something like a British Mark IV .303 Lee_Enfield and reshape it and the wood of the gun you are putting it on but it would be a lot of work
Doc Windshadow 0
looked inn Brownells and found these http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=24758/Product/M1_GARAND_STEEL_BUTTPLATE $25 http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=21393/avs|Manufacturer_1=SPRINGFIELD%20ARMORY/Product/BUTT_PLATE_ASSEMBLY__COMPLETE $25 there are a few others in the $25 to $30 range but all the ones at Brownells seem to be the M1 M14 design and I personally think the Lee Enfield round trap is better looking than the oval M1. Or if you want to spend many evenings in front of the TV with an assortment of files you cold make your own out of any steel plate it is not hard to design a trap door just time consuming to do as a one off
