Charcol tick, but finding salt petre and sulphur may not have been the easiest and if you did manage to make BP, what would you do with it? What metallurgy would you employ to make a barrel? What is the design of your toothbrush and how do you make them?

How handy would a coiled spring be for inventers of the day? I think the coiled spring was invented from memory in the 1700's, but in 1145 steel wasn't invented yet for another 700 years, so how would you get something as simple as wire to make a spring?

That's the quandary and why it gets the old grey matter thinking.......its a lot hard to answer than what a lot of people think.

It was a hard night, lots of tossing and turning ...... You wake up and its the year 1145 A.D, what would you invent for the folks?

In Australia we use augers with extensions on them to get down D-E-E-P
