  1. KR Thanks for the clarification, I was not sure about the law on this point. NCD
  2. I believe there is some Federal law that allows someone from another state to bring his guns into a different state for the purpose of shooting an NRA sanctioned event. I have been told that you can have your guns in the other state for 48 hours before and 48 hours after the event. You must also have a flyer or registration form with you to prove your are going to an out of state match. Not positive about this but this is what I have heard.
  3. Tom I just put this "stuff" out there to inform other New Yorkers and to warn pards in other states that they could be next if they don't watch out and vote. As to the lever guns, in NY if your lever guns magazine can hold more than 10 rounds it is not legal in NY. This all happened when the new SAFE Act became law. The reality is that very few Law people will take the time and effort to check your magazine unless they are already arresting you for something else and then they will pile on any and all charges they can think of.
  4. Yes, I would love to move to another state but my wife will not leave her grand kids and I still have 2 elderly parents that live here and I can't abandon them.
  5. On another thread on the wire they were discussing letting prospective members try out your guns. This sounds good in but in New York it is not legal. I can’t even go to my local gun dealer and handle a gun unless I first show him my Pistol Permit. Technically I cannot let another person try out my hand guns unless they also have my guns on there permit. (In NY every single hand gun you own is on your permit). Now with that said I am sure that it happens all the time and the only shortfall would be if someone injures themselves or others would the law give you a hard time. My point is in NY we cannot legally loan our guns to prospects. Any one have an solution for this problem?
  6. The NRA use to hound me for donation both by phone and by mail but once I told them to stop calling the phone calls have dropped to a trickle and the mail is only about once a month now. I purchased a life membership about 10 years ago because I believed in the cause but after that I had to buy a bigger mail box.
  7. BP shotgun hulls, use once and toss. They are cheap and easy to find.
  8. I purchased an Aimteck also and had nothing but trouble with it. They finally refused to take my calls.
  9. I think on the email I got from them they mentioned that "you could win one of these guns" (meaning the new long derringer)
  10. Bond announced a contest to name the new gun but the web site to enter the contest is still under construction. You can still post on there face book page but the contest web page isn't ready yet. Kinda poor planning on their part.
  11. When I shoot Skeet and Trap I use a pair of gloves made by Bob Allen with Thinsulate in them. They are specifically for shooting. Personally I can't shoot my revolvers with gloves on but these may help you.
  12. If you already have the lower hammers in you Smoke Wagon and you have your guns apart for cleaning why not try the Uberti hammer in the Pietta?
  13. I don't see anything wrong with the term "Period Correct". We use it all the time in Civil War and Cowboy reenacting. In my opinion it is better than using the word "Costume".
  14. Leather is pliable when wet. If you soak the loops with water and then insert the shells with the tape on them and let it dry naturally the leather will conform to the new dimensions.
  15. Back in the 60's when I was young and stupid and road motorcycles, all my friends with Brit. bikes always had trouble with the Lucus systems. I road HD's which had there own set of problems.
  16. +1 on the Saeco molds. I use one of there 4 cavity molds for my 44-40 and it is the best mold I have ever owned.
  17. If you are interested in an 1860 Henry there is one for sale on this forum. Here is the link. http://www.sassnet.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=245651
  18. To make this setup complete you would also need to shoot an 1860 Henry in BP. I don't know if a muzzle loading shotgun would be just to time consuming.
  19. I see it has cylinders but how do you load it? LOL
  20. RCBS stuff is usually under guarantee. If you give them a call they may replace it free.
  21. Without going into too much detail, I was cutting down 38 Spl. cases but the 38 Short Colt work much better for the blanks. But thanks for the info. Have a Merry Christmas.
  22. If anyone has some 38 Short Colt brass they want to sell please let me know. I know I can get new from Starline but I am hoping to get some used cheaper than the price of new. I am going to be making 380 blanks out of them. t.schultz5@roadrunner.com Terry
