Nutmeg Ryder, SASS # 74966 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Wondering what people are loading for Clean shot in 45 colt, 200grain bullet. Been trying to work up a ne load before I crank out a few thousand for the 2025 season. My primary concern is for the revolver, rifle will work with whatever that load in, or so I have found so far. Currently I am at 4.3 Grains, Magnum LPP, 200 Grain bullet seated with a Lee Factory Crimp die. Average FPS is 618, Max deviation for 10 rounds 113fps, with an average of 35fps deviation. My Previous load was Trailboss, 5.4grains same bullet, primer and crimp and it averaged 566fps, with tighter deviations. So what say you, that also load Cleanshot? Quote
Eyesa Horg Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I haven't chronod them yet, but I'm up to 5.4gr in my rifle and still getting that annoying gold dust all the way back to the hammer spring. At 4.4gr in my pistols with C45S brass and 160gr. pills, the gold dust is almost gone! Next batch I'm going up another tenth in pistol and .2 for the rifle. Haven't noticed a difference with primers. Hi Eyesa, Happy New Year to you and Ellie! I have not seen the gold dust yet at the 4.3 grains, but I have a serious crimp. Still kinda "Snappy" I guess I was spoiled by the milder Trail Boss Quote

We're doing OK thank you. My crimps seem good, but I'm not finding it snappy either. Still feel light compared to my old Clays load that was a couple tenths lighter. Quote
