WOLFY Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 Bought this from the wire and noticed a previous owner must’ve swapped the latch with a Taurus one. If the sight leaf was tacked in the middle would it qualify as a fixed sight gun?

No. Quote The Beretta “Laramie” rear latch with the adjustable rear sight may be replaced with the rear latch (with fixed sight) from the “Russian” Model to be allowed as a fixed sight model revolver. Any other revolver by whatever manufacturer or model that has either a dovetailed or screw adjustable front or rear sight, whether movable or adjustable, is an adjustable sight revolver. SHB p.35
WOLFY Posted August 9, 2024 Author Posted August 9, 2024 Maybe I was unclear. Since it will be tack welded in, It’ll not be dovetailed, nor screw adjustable.

There are specific modifications allowed to convert some adjustable model firearms to fixed sight versions. If a modification is NOT approved, it is ILLEGAL...subject to a SDQ if used in SASS competition. REF: SHB p.32 Check with import dealers (e.g. VTI) for the correct parts.
WOLFY Posted August 9, 2024 Author Posted August 9, 2024 Thanks Pale Wolf B, Taylor’s & Cimarron didn’t have it. I’ll check VTI next. If they don’t have it, I’ll look into filling mine in completely and making it look like the one that should’a been there originally. cheers y’all
