Subdeacon Joe
I never knew the term before: Strawberries sprouting! The phenomenon where the “seeds” turn into green shoots all over the surface of a strawberry is called “vivipary.” Seems to happen in other tings too. I've seen it in tomatoes and melons. J-BAR #18287
“Viviparous” means giving live birth. ”Ovoviviparous” means egglaying but retaining the eggs inside momma until they hatch, giving live birth. Like rattlesnakes. Sometimes it’s complicated.
