DoctorWho
I bought the compulsory LH firing pins and spanner wrench for my Stoeger coach gun and am having a heck of a time with one side. One unscrewed with no problem, the other is dang near fused. I soaked with some Kroil, did some tapping magic, and subsequently bent my spanner wrench and idiot scratched the plate. Any other suggestions? I have to order a new wrench so I have time to take action.
Long Hunter SASS #20389L
DoctorWho, IMHO, sometimes they insert them from the factory with bluing salts in still in the threads and they lock up. Take a punch and insert it in one of the holes at an angle and tap it to break loose. Then use the spanner wrench. Email me your order number to jim@longhunt .com. and I'll send you a new spanner wrench. Pleas don't reorder. Thanks, Long Hunter
Cheyenne Ranger, 48747L
try a bit of heat. you can heat the 'plate' or the entire surface--what you want to happen is have it expand so any rust spots break free I have used a heavy duty soldering iron and went for a couple of minutes. the rust can come from bluing salts left on them when first assembled (see reply above ▲)
