Doc X
An era we'll never see again. I grew up just North of the Pennsy main line to Chicago. The route West of Fort Wayne, In. was flat and pretty much straight as a string. I can remember my father talking about the T1 4-4-4-4's running that section at close to 100 mph! The early diesels didn't miss that speed by much either! Now that track is an independent secondary line. Well, at least the rails are still in place and moving some freight.
