Dillon Charge Bar w/ Trail Boss

Recommended Posts

FWIW, I was using the small (regular) powder bar and getting overspill at 5.4 gr. Changed to the Lg and all is well.

How come such a beefy load for dingin' steel plates?

Besides, I'm used to shooting heavy loads, but this load is almost nonexistent in recoil compared to what I used to shoot.

Idk what they're using, but we get a few folks that, I'd swear, are trying to knock the plates down. No reason for all that.

7.7 gr of titegroup gives a pretty good kick. I spend a lot of time out west on my cousins ranch in the summer, and we shoot max loads.  Didn't like switching powders much, but I tried Trail Boss and loaded 6.5 gr and loved it, so decide to stick with it.  Still have plenty of titegroup loaded ammo.

They all have their purpose. I wouldn't use TB for anything but Cowboy or practice. I loaded up some 45 Colt loads with 185 GDHPs and used 700X. Fiery!
