Dorado
Got a dresser chest the other day to fix up. I don't know what it is. I need some help IDing it. No markings except on the drawer locks. They are stamped Fournier on the top of the oval and A. Paris on the bottom of it. No plywood so it's got to be old. Any ideas?
Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438
There is a furniture maker named Fournier in Paris. Google "Fournier A. Paris Dresser" and select "Images". See if you can find something close. Pricey stuff, if its real; of course, someone may have just swapped the hardware...... Good luck. LL
Badlands Bob #61228
Lots of furniture makers ordered the hardware from Europe since that's was where the furniture styles were often established. The types of wood used are a good indication of where it was built. Some makers produced furniture in a "signature" style that can be identified by an expert.
