Shawnee McGrutt
Loophole, you are smart to start it now, I have ran into the same problem as you stated. Getting a permit is like pulling hens teeth. I am about twenty or so feet above sea level. Have lost a tab over ten feet of frontage since the 1960's . The government still taxes for that land that has slipped into the sea. The federal flood insurance doesn't cover the full value of the loss. From what I understand, it is a joke. Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
I can't find my reference right now, but "sea level" is the surface of the water during a "standard day", when the temperature is (IIRC) 68deg. F, with the barometric pressure 29.92" of Hg (1000 milibars). But I could be wrong... Definitions change over time. The video explains the currently accepted definition.
