Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438
It's my Dad's 90th birthday this year; he's a WWII vet, having served on the USS Chimo off Utah Beach on D-Day. The Chimo was an ACM class minelayer converted to minesweeping for this use. I'm searching for an ACM model to assemble as a gift. For pics of other ACM vessels, look here: http://www.shipscribe.com/usnaux/ACM/ACM01-p.html If you have anything close, please let me know! Cash on hand. Chance Buckman, SASS #56855
One place to try is http://www.sdmodelmakers.com/shop/category/mine-warfare-models/ , however these are pre-built museum quality models starting around $825.00. They can, however, supply an exact model of the actual ACM-1 USS Chimo. I usually buy my ship models from http://www.totalnavy.com , try http://www.totalnavy.com/amphibious_and_support.html where they have an Admirable class minesweeper, however I don't see any Chimo class ships listed. You might want to contact them and see if they can help.

Ironhorse Phil, SASS #47383
Chimo was a converted Army Coastal mine layer and first of the class. http://www.sdmodelmakers.com/shop/category/auxiliary-ship-models/ This place will build any type ship with a 16-20 week build time from point of deposit...
