Hashknife Cowboy Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I just took possession of a new manufactured Marlin 1895GS in 45-70. Bought for hunting big critters in the woods. I'll admit I did have some trepidation about Marlin, having handled several about a year ago. The quality has improved greatly, the action is firm but not unreasonable and its very accurate. It seems as if things are looking up at least with this new Marlin. My only complaint if I must, the checkering is shallow. Just thought I'd share the info....
