Utah Bob #35998
The City of Colorado Springs has paid $23,500 to a man mistakenly arrested for carrying an open weapon. James Sorensen sued the city after seven CSPD officers detained and arrested him at a gay pride festival in July 2012, a day after the Aurora theater shooting, after seeing the open gun on his hip. $23,500 settlement to man wrongly arrested Link to comment

Virgil Ray Hality, SASS# 37355
Good! More of this is needed. There is a similar case in front of the PA Appellet court today. Rather than the usual 3 of 11 who heard the appeals, the court of its own accord (sua sponte) has deiced to address the issue with a full bench (en banc) and without further amendment to the arguments of either side. http://blog.princelaw.com/2013/11/20/erie-litigation-update/ Its a big day today. If the court rukes in favor of the PA constitution and preemtion doctrine, there will be 8 people in Erie who will have such claims. Link to comment
