Big Sage, SASS #49891 Life Posted January 30, 2013 Share Posted January 30, 2013 I am an Executive Board member and a past President of our local Rifle & Pistol Club (a SASS affiliate. At a recent board meeting it was decided to follow the NRA's example and set up a seperate part of the club to deal completely with 2nd Ammendment issues. We were concerned that as a "tax exempt non profit" club, we might put this status at risk by getting involved in politics. We will be contacting an attorney to assist us and hope to be able to function in a manner similiar to the NRA's ILA, but on a state and local level. We are a large club with over 300 members and have assets (members & $$)to get started. We thought this was a great way to make an impact and correct some of the crap and outright lies that are being heard. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
