Painted Mohawk SASS 77785
Howdy.. Just recently aquired an 1873 Beretta Renegade in .45. Been using a Marlin Cowboy which is a great rifle but the 73 is something I just had to have, has a Pioneer short stroke kit & a bit of other tricking up, shot a match the other week.. very happy. I'd be very surprised if I saw another Renegade being used in Cowboy here, as only a handful were shipped to Australia. I have not been very successful in finding info on the net as to when they were first made, how many, serial numbers, are they still made etc.... Any help, links, or info greatly appreciated...............Regards 'Painted Mohawk
Buckshot Frank
The "Beretta" Renegades were made by Uberti. It was basically a Uberti 73 with factory short stroke links and an aluminum carrier; the idea being that it would be a factory "race-ready" rifle. While not exactly "race-ready" , it makes a great platform to build a CAS rifle since the expensive upgrade parts are already there (if you can find one). Unfortunately, they are no longer made and getting hard to find.
Buck D. Law, SASS #62183
You mention that it has a Pioneer short-stroke. Do you have the links that came out of it? If so, there are folks that favor them.
