Masked Rider
Hi Friends, I'm attending my first SASS convention and am looking to learn the ropes about costuming. First, since there are no guns, do we leave our gun leather at home? And second, are the costume contests judged just at night, or at certain events? Or perhaps like some annual shoots where folks are "always watching" over the course of a weekend... The reason I ask is that I typically shoot B-Western and am trying to figure out how many trunks to pack! Any insight is appreciated, Masked Rider
Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L
No guns, no leather. All costume judging will be at scheduled times in front of judges. Best Dressed will be Saturday evening prior to the banquet and I believe there is a contest on Thursday evening for classic cowboy/cowgirl, saloon girl, etc. Look at the scheule of events for this year because I think the costume section is still last years write up although it should be very similar. I was one of the judges the last two years, and competed the two years before that. Won't make it this year. Scout

Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217
Hi Masked! It was a pleasure to meet you. I hope you ended up going to the ball Saturday. After all, in "Victorian Society" being a "masked rider" would have been a worthy costume. Regards, Allie Mo
