The value of anything is the price that someone will pay for it..

Folks have a home that appraises for $150,000.. put it on the market..

No one buys the home or makes an offer...

Seller lowers price to $125,000.. still no buyers or offers...

Seller finally asks for any offer... He's offered $75,000.. Geez.. it appraises for $150,000

But that is what the market is on that given day..

Seller has to decide if he wants to take the offer or keep the home..

You're asking $1000 for your rifle.. It has not sold..

That's all the rest of the folks on this here ol' wire sayin' it's not worth what your askin'

You've asked for offers..

A lot of folks on this ol' wire may not want to insult a fellow cowpolk with a low offer of what they feel it's worth...

You need to put it for sale for the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM you are willing to take or figure you'll keep it..

Asking what you want isn't working..

Market and timing has a lot to do with a sale...

Just like weather has a lot to do with the out come of a rain dance :)

Rance <_<

Just my thinkin'

but I work in sales..

Thanks

Howdy,

It's not the price but the reputation the Lighntings have, I think your price is reasonable but they have a bad rep.

The condition of your gun removes it from the collector category. It is a shooter but the condition of the wood is a hindrance to someone looking for a nice shooter. The pony on the side is very nice as most are very shallow, to bad the rest of the gun isn't as nice as the pony. It is just in a place where there is no collector value and may be a little to pricey for someone looking for a shooter given the condition of the wood. I would post it on Antique and Collector Firearms or Gunbroker and just put on a reserve below which you will not go. Also, are all of the internal parts in good condition? If any are broke or worn excessively even a shooter would not want it.
