Driftwood Johnson, SASS #38283
It sounds like the perfect cross draw shooter would initially draw strong side when transitioning to the right, and draw cross draw when transitioning left? Howdy Again I dunno about being perfect, but yes, if I start facing straight ahead or to the left, I will draw my strongside pistol first, if I need to be facing right, I am already set up for the crossdraw, so that is the one I pull first. Of course, I am always one of the slowest shooters on the posse. Some folks prefer to always pull the same pistol first.
Marauder SASS #13056
The instructions say you must start with both hands on your pistols. So most cross draw folks could cross their arms and be touching both of their pistols. So I see no reason not to allow that. If the person cannot reach both by crossing their arms, then they may have to do something else. Ask and they MAY allow you to make your best honest effort. Or you may have to start in a manor that ensures touching both pistols, but may not be your preferred method.
