Cope Daniels
Not sure about shipping to a match but I did ship my rifle off last week. I used UPS and made sure that it was wrapped up well with bubble wrap and tape. I also bought extra insurance just in case. I would rather pay a little more now then a lot later. Flat Iron
Hi ya Vance. If you want to send your guns to Winter Range you have to ship the guns to yourself by FedEx or UPS adult signature required. Handguns must be shipped by (atleast) 2 day air. DO NOT ship by USPS (FFL required to ship). No FFL required to ship to yourself by FedEx or UPS. The package must be addressed to yourself but can be received by somone else. If it is opened by an FFL dealer, he must record the firearms on his books and cannot transfer the pistols back to you because you are not a resident of AZ. You can ship the guns back to yourself at your home. When your ready to ship download a copy of the regs from the shippers website and bring it with you in case they give you a hard time. Overall its much easier to take the guns with you on the plane or better yet find someone who is driving to Winter Range and give the stuff to them. Most people ship their ammo UPS ground box marked ORD-M (required) if flying (bring a copy of the regs). If you need more info send me a PM.
