Marshal Max Henry Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 I want the 5.5" Ruger Old Army with the cinversion to cartridge. I curious as to what the Cartridge cal. will be? Im new to this idea so i feel stupid asking but is there Diff cal. choices?
Smithy Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 I have just such an animal, but it started life out as a 7 1/2" ROA that I cut back to 3 1/2" and welded and recut the gripframe to a birdshead grip profile. It looks really sharp. My only wish now is that I had done it to both the ROA's that I had at the time instead of just the one. I ended up selling the other one (dumb me). And to your question, 45 LC is the only option, but it's a good one. Smithy.
Dick Dastardly SASS #45219 Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 The Kirst Konverter cylinder for the Ruger Old Armies will load and shoot 45 Colt, 45 Schofield and Cowboy 45 Special ammo. I've shot all three with my brace of ROAs and all work great. Of course, I load them with Big Lube bullets over a compressed charge of black powder. Pick yer poison, there's three great choices to fit any of your SASS needs. DD-DLoS
Cusz M. Dutch SASS Life 55326 Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 also have seen 45 ACP only out there.
