W in circle proof mark?

[RB Rooson, SASS #16974]

Have a six shot .38 spl pistol with the proof mark of a "W in a circle" on the cylinder. The cylinder does not swing-out and must have the pin pulled in order to load/unload. Nothing else indicated on the entire gun.

 

Any clues as to manufacturer and date?

Yep, pictures needed. So far, from your description we can tell you it most likely is:

 

1) old (early 1900s) and

2) not from a main line, quality manufacturer (so probably low value)
