Thank you for attending our Saturday CAS match at the Western Reserve Fish and Game Association club in Niles, Ohio! Home of the Lake Park Raiders Paper-punching posse! Another good time was had by all! I want to apologize for forgetting to have the group photograph taken before the match started. We were caught up in the pre-match discussion and it slipped my mind. Fast shootin’ Lefty Leadshot won the second-place spot and smooth-talking Rye Miles came in third. Congratulations to all our winners and contestants! The Brunswick Kid was our only clean shooter, accomplishing the task with style and expert dexterity! Who says there’s no such thing as a free lunch! Big thanks to Heartless Hanna for bringing the morning donuts and also for bringing us a big sandwich ring to devour during the brief match intermission! Thanks, Heartless! Our next match is after Christmas - the Thursday Work Shirker Open Class CAS match on December 28, 2023. Visitors and spectators are always welcome. Wear hearing protection and eye protection-it’s mandatory! “Safety every time, that’s us!” Josey Wales style shooting, .22 caliber shooting, and manly larger caliber shooting is always allowed as long as it’s smokeless lead cowboy ammo. We provide the wax bullet shotgun shells. We hope to see you next time! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season! Slow Mo Dern and the Lake Park Raiders

We want to thank all the Cowboys, Cowgirls, shooters, and shootists for coming to the Thursday Work Shirker Open Class CAS match in Niles. A good time was had by all! Good-natured Yippy Yiyo Ki Yay was our match winner. Congratulations, Yippy! He almost had a clean match too! Lefty Leadshot was the next winning contestant, and third place went to Slow Mo Dern. Good-hearted Heartless Hanna was our Top Lady Shooter. Congratulations to all our winners and contestants! There were no clean shooters on this day partly because the indoor shotgun misses count, and our shotgun shells defy all laws of physics and ballistics but that’s all part of the fun! Thank you for making our new shooter 4H Chris, feel welcome and thanks for sharing your kindness, generosity, knowledge, and sense of humor with him. Big thanks to everybody for making the match a success. Our next CAS match is on Saturday December 9, 2023. We hope to see you there. All the best, Slow Mo Dern and the Lake Park Raiders
  6. Howdy! It did snow in the area Monday and Tuesday. I haven't heard a recent forecast for today yet, but the main roads are clear. The temperature has been 27 degrees so although we only got 3-4 inches of snow, the only problem now is ice on the road in places. Right now, the roads are clear. Mo

  12. Howdy BB, I will send you some information and try to send you some photographs. The weather is so nice right now, it's a shame to be shooting indoors. We are lucky to have a place to shoot during the winter months; indoor shooting is totally different than shooting outdoors but there's more time to visit, sell items, meet new people, and have a few laughs. A good time is usually had by all. I have to put a sign on the wall that says, "Clang!" I'll write something up and send it to you. All the best, Slow Mo Dern

  22. Howdy Lonestar Hoss, I have a Diamondback Sidekick and I love it! All my Single Sixes, Wranglers, and Heritages are collecting dust since I bought this. This gun has a swing-out cylinder that holds 9 rounds of .22 and a changeable cylinder that holds 9 rounds of .22 mag. The cylinder can be changed using just a metal punch to push in a spring-pin and remove the cylinder. I like to shoot bees with bird shot and this makes the sport way mo' better! I hardly ever use the gun as double action because it's not as accurate, but it works single action or double action. One thing worth mentioning is that the cylinder has cut-outs on each chamber to let you see the rounds in the chamber unlike most .22s that have recessed chambers. You can always tell if there's a round, spent or live, in the Sidekick chamber. This is handy at times. I am told that Ruger grips will fit this gun, but I don't know if that's true. I bought mine earlier this year for under $400. One word of caution: When you change cylinders; the button and spring will come out with the cylinder, so change the cylinder on a table so you don't lose parts. This is a fun gun to own and use. I have yet to do an accuracy test but plan to soon. I bought the gun earlier this year and have many hours on it already and I think it might be more accurate than some of my single sixes. All the best, Mo Ps: I do not think this gun would be good for Buckaroos because it is completely different from how a single action revolver works and is loaded. Buckaroos would be better learning with Ruger single action revolvers. Mo
